I don't know, I don't have a whole lot of trouble believing that Stonestreet could be a Harlan villain, especially one in the more affable vein of Limehouse or Mags.

I'd definitely take those odds on Arlo. The show hasn't used his relationship with Raylan much of late, except to show how much Arlo's mind is going. I suspect the stakes are going to need to be raised for Raylan early in the episode (the way they've slowly been going up for Quarles and the way they shot up for Boyd…
Oh god. that is the most terrifying thought I've ever heard. Thank you for the downward spiral that's going to start. whathaveidonewithmylife?
@avclub-41e23e24ee2670c4128cd7e5e5ee42ab:disqus : That would be a neat twist, but as I recall the bank to be robbed was in a different city than Crowder's bar. Trooper Tom is a Statie, so he has jurisdiction both places (though, come to think of it, Sheriff Napier's people probably should have showed up to the car…
I don't know, Lem and Phil had their own nerdly pop culture obsessions (Fantasy Fight Club). I think it helps that we see them almost exclusively at work, whereas the characters in TBBT are only on screen during non-work time.
Speaking of Sokka's throat, I was pretty sure he was talking about his "Throatal Flap" rather than "Throat-Hole Flap". It's a small difference, but I think the line works better this way.
It's like they're ACTIVELY trying to convince people not to use the notification feature.
I get the impression Quarles' directness isn't his usual operating mode, but because he thinks he should be running the Detroit mob, he sees scamming pills in Harlan, KY as just incredibly beneath him, and so isn't bothering to really try, but rather coast on an "It's Harlan, it'll be easy" mentality. This episode…
Jed Bartlet is every liberal-leaning idealist's favorite president. He's probably the most popular Democrat ever to hold that title.
The plan will be for her to lose to Alan Alda, but a tragic death in the cast will force the writers to make her win because otherwise the show would be too depressing.
No one even seems to worry about law enforcement unless Raylan wanders through. That kind of made sense when the Bennett clan ran things and county sheriff Bennett investigated pretty much just what he saw fit to. Now there's someone else running local law enforcement, but no one seems to have noticed. And it's not…
@avclub-32b63dd70d870580128d83e930199e1c:disqus : There's basically no chance that doesn't become a factor in Limehouse's play at some point. It's been brought up too much, and the only payoff so far has been that it gave Ava a way to arrange a meet. My question is if the payoff is going to be limited to Mags, or if…
I'd agree with this, but at this point I'm pretty much certain whenever the next real Community update happens, there will be plenty of other shows name-dropped if only to further infuriate people.
POP POP
1. Apparently the way this show is going to introduce new characters is to write episodes containing them which imply we should know who said characters are. They did it with Lizzy Caplan, and now they've done it with June Diane Raphael.
I was afraid they were going to ruin this joke by drawing attention to it. I'm really glad they didn't.
I have no idea who the target demographic for Supernatural is. It's on the CW, and given what I've read on AV Club about it, the popular opinion seems to be that it's targeted at young women. But it doesn't really look like any other shows targeted at young women on TV. There's basically no romance plot or subplot,…
The key to why TV doesn't work for nerd media seems, to me, to be right in the label we've given the demographic. Nerds are basically synonymous with tech early-adopters. Nerds are the demographic most likely to time shift TV content, and the most likely among those who time-shift to to do so via internet downloads…
Aang and Sokka team ups are great, but that greatness is mitigated by the fact that when they pair off, it means we also get Katara - Toph stories, which I think tends to be the weakest relationship of the four major characters.
I kind of expected the Amy-kill resolution to come from the fact that Sam & Dean burned a ghost who was trying to help them before getting to the actual culprits, which sort of expands on the whole "not all monsters are evil, maybe salt-first-ask-questions-later is a bit too strong a position." Instead, Sam kills a…
