I have two favorites: 418's "Won't you Pimai Neighbor," which is listed on a lot of Buddhist websites as a better explanation of Tibetan Buddhism than many lectures and books.

wolfmansRazor, I still stand by my opinion, but I acknowledge that people who haven't lived in Jerusalem for an extended period of time and taken a great interest in all of its cultures might find the book a little more fascinating than I did. There is this bubble of anti-Israel Westerners living in East Jerusalem,…
LurkyMcLurkerson, that's true, though the drinking and going to the beach at Tel Aviv culture is very similar to American culture, which Israelis often seek to emulate. Delisle usually thrives on idiosyncrises in cultures, and there's a lot of different people from three different religions all living very different…
I have never read a book that said less about the complex cultures and religious traditions of Jerusalem than his book on Jerusalem. He seemed to spend most of the year enjoying Israel's secular drinking culture and never ever coming into contact with religious people.
I was disappointed by Delisle's book, in that it took me a very short time to read it. Maybe 5 minutes. For a paperback book I expect a lot more from him.
Is Jim Mallon the guy who still retains the rights to the likenesses of Crow and Tom Servo and won't let anybody use them?
But Orson Scott Card's done it for us! Can no one appreciate a radical reinterpretation of the bard that's all about pedophilia?
I recall two things about this film: that the kid was cute, and that Superman didn't have a line for like the first 40 minutes of the movie.
It must be hard to work at the AV Club if you are not constantly reading from the bestseller list in an almost suspicious manner.
You know, if this car were English, this wouldn't have happened.
Rifftrax is starting to make me think that the Apple is a good movie. Only about half of its songs are duds.
What, do Stewart and Patterson have prior obligations?
Actually, also not to speak ill of the dead, I thought he was distracting in MOST performances he was in because of the Sopranos, and this one of the few in which I just accepted him as a character and was cool with it.
He was terrific in that. The best performance I saw outside of Sopranos.
Mike and Crow leaving the theater in Invasion of the Neptune Men is one of the funniest bits they did with the theater. Especially because it highlights how impossible that movie is to joke about after a solid hour of stock footage.
I was in Florida last week and I heard someone casually say nigger, when no black people were around, for the first time in my life.
Steve Holt! doesn't have a brother (that we know of). GOB was just thinking he was talking to someone who wasn't his son.
I know the boy's locker rooms seem to have an extremely-open door policy. Like a private entrance if you need to seduce/attack someone.
Some kind of non-engagement school policy, like they have in public schools in the Bronx. You can't legally touch the kids so you can't stop them from stabbing/biting each other. This is sadly a real thing.
Get some hookers in here quick!
