Nothing beats that guitar riff, but Otis & Aretha have it all over the Stones in every other aspect.

Comment of the century!
Reading that, I don't think I ever want to hear the new record and I had been moderately excited for it before.
Drive By Truckers over all of them.
Except that it's come back and is more insidious than ever before.
What isn't these days?
Kimmy had a 2nd season order before the 1st was released.
Halfway through this and I definitely like it more than his other stuff, it tames a lot of the things I hated about his earlier work. That said, there's still something a little too precious here, I guess I like music with a little more grease on it.
How are the PC mobs on Twitter going to deal with this? Yesterday they were all righteous that finally the color barrier on late night had been broken, now they find this! The hand wringing is palpable!
They aren't and I clarify below I know I'm being unfair. I'll take a listen and let you know if this record turned me around.
The problem with the Bring Back Sal brigade is that you all want to see him out of the closet and enjoying life as a gay man in late 60s NY, but the reality of what happened to people like him would be far more depressing. His best possible scenario is as a precursor to the evangelical preachers who preach intolerance…
And yes, I've heard the "difficult" Age of Adz and while the Pottery Barn aspects are gone, it's just been replaced with pretentious affectations of all his worst tendencies.
The arrangements to his songs are too fussy, I really can't stand all the choral embellishments. His voice is paper thin.
I realize this comment seems dick-ish, but I have never gotten the praise for Sufjan Stevens one bit.
Do yourselves a favor and click over two boxes on the main page and listen to some Townes Van Zandt - then tell me about Sufjan's "genius" again.
Probably about as much as the S. African Jon Stewart
Are you really that stunned? In this age of political correctness 2.0, I'm surprised it took this many comments to go this far.
NBC exec: "well, we can't do a new show with Cosby anymore since he's so controversial. How about Craig T Nelson, he's never said anything crazy right?"
I got this one too, apparently there is a market for this show that no one knew existed before.
I haven't read the source book, but I've liked Ron Rash's other novels quite a bit, so I was looking forward to this, unfortunately this sounds like a trainwreck.
