I'm going to say something controversial. I thought Blake Shelton's performance was stellar and it made me wish he had a regular role on the show, a la Melissa McCarthy or Martin Freeman. His line reading in the magician's sketch was great and his willingness to skewer himself and his trade in "Wishin' Boot" was

I think this is fine. They had some clever ideas, but this last season was pretty thin.
