I first saw The Seventh Seal in college in the early 70's.  Had to stand the whole time to see the subtitles over the heads of the other students.  I don't think I thought of it then but now I can't help thinking of the knight's wife as in "Gee honey, I'm glad you're home but thanks for bringing Death with you."

The Devil and Daniel Webster is a great story and an amazing movie.  Walter Huston's "Scratch" is one of his best.  However, it is clearly a case of jury nullification.  He signed the contract, got the benefits but sympathetic jurors let him off.  I wonder if they teach that one in law schools.
