The sous chef at his NYC restaurant (which was prize job to be won on Hell's Kitchen) was on Chopped. He said his reason for being on the show was he was paid so poorly he had to live with his mother in Queens.

I guess I'm on his side to choose the hot wife over the collectibles, but yes, she has very scary eyes. Also, someday she will be old and his collectibles will still be young - so there's that.

I swear I want Taco-Bell to sponsor this show just to watch those three super-chefs pimp that place. Gordon: "Your challenge is to replicate this marvelous … taco grande … from … from … " Joe: "We need the money, Gordon. Say it, SAY IT!"

I cannot believe their decision. One guy who is almost always bad and stuns them when he does something good gets to stay, and a woman who is usually terrific and surprised them by being bad is sent away. They have to know that Felix had a better chance of going all the way than David. I think it was all wrong.

thecarsonmccullers: I think the right side won in the States Rights debate (although the fight goes on today) since if the States had won we'd still have slavery. It's all well and good (although ridiculous) to say "Well if you don't like the way your state treats you - move to anther one." That's even been an…

That's not a bad analysis Archmage, but think a cohesive Union would have a better chance of expanding westward than a loose Confederacy and in holding off foreign invasion. The map wouldn't look like it does today but you'd recognize it.

I don't believe the Confederacy would have survived. The United States would still be together in some form (minus maybe Vermont which didn't seem to want to be a part anyway), but the South could barely cooperate during a war to the death for their own survival. Once comfortably independent they would have no…
