Great article and looking forward to further installments.  The subject matter of gangster rap has always leaned towards the glorification of sociopathic tendencies, there's no more redeeming value in an Eazy-E rap, say, than in a Gucci Mane rap.  That being said, Eazy-E was a rhodes scholar on the mic compared to

That's because, like Radiohead, he's got some classic shit on his resume with CoFlow and Cannibal Ox.  Sadly, it seems like those rarefied heights are well behind him.

It's a well-known fact that in the far future when historians are writing about the decline of the American Empire, the release of "Cat Scratch Fever" will be seen as a seminal turning point.

I heard tell Tom Six went to Milton Bradley to see if he could use the Connect 4 trademark in his next film. Sadly, he was turned down.

Al Bundy once scored 4 touchdowns in one game for Polk High.

Lookie here now, I never claimed McCarthy was a hack. I'm a big fan of "Blood Meridian" and "No Country for Old Men".  But "The Road" was a load of soppy bollocks as far as I'm concerned.  And who is this Nicholas Sparks? Nevermind don't tell me I could care less.

That's a bit strong, innit?  He was a glorified barber not Pol Pot.

"The Road" was a depressing snore because of the source material.  I actually prefer the Hillcoat movie to McCarthy's pretentious and ponderous non-story.

"Lawless" has me somewhat intrigued, big name English actors (Oldman, Hardy) and Aussie Pearce doing cornpone accents and doing southern-fried prohibition-era gangster type shit? Sounds good as long as Shehe LaQueef can act suitably manly.  Also, "The Proposition" was excellent, so I'm expecting big things from Cave

" Twilight star
Kristen Stewart brings her unchanging “Who farted?” expression to this
straight-faced, big-budget retelling of the Snow White legend"

Agreed. And I'd say Ironman should replace Only Built 4 Cuban Linx

Seriously, when did nerds start thinking they were cool.  When I was a lad, only jocks and metalheads sported the greasy mullet.  Also, dorks who wore a t-shirt emblazoned with an array of superhero heads were summarily beaten by said jocks and metalheads.  Now they can just roam wherever they please spreading their
