That ain't right.

Gathering slide material for my presentation. Rather than having 20 slides with 4-5 bullet points, I'm going to have lots of pictures and quotes to riff on for 20 minutes, then get grilled on for 10.

Read Angela Carter's Saints and Sinners — short stories, quite fantastical, the majority set in America. Her take on Lizzie Borden is good - she leaves the mysteries while filling in the details of those involved in the murders and the lives they led. Reading A.S. Byatt's The Little Black Book of Stories - bleak and

The trip to Prague should go off without a hitch — except for the 8-hour layover in Frankfurt. Really? And it would cost me $500-$600 (or more) to get out of there at a decent time, but I don't want to commit in case my confirmed first leg is late. Still, if I'm leaving the West Coast on Saturday afternoon, I don't

Every movie? Every American movie? Every modern movie? Textual or production-wise?

Fingers crossed for you.

Fine, make watching Tammy & the Bachelor even more problematic! Hmph!

Because there are dozens of those latter photos on Getty Images and iStock?

Only the ones with the really racist titles. The others are limited to two: Veddy Veddy British and Normal English.

Actually, I like the illustrations. I have no desire to color them, but they actually added to the pathos of the story, because they seem to be from the valet's perspective (or view him as something other than a fluid-filled, ninny-noggined dress-up doll for the protagonist).

Some of our judges ran unopposed, so that was easy. Some have been involved in the state cases leading up to same-sex marriage, so the alt media has taken an interest in those. For rest, we have some wonkerish political reporters and gadflys who manage to comply a complete list of endorsements for everything, even

Dracula's Daughter on Svengoolie. It was okay. Surprised by some of the Sapphic overtones, and the main love interest made no sense as a likable character to me, but it was just the sort of goofy semi-horror film that one tunes into Svengoolie to see.
