it's a real pick 'em situation, but Brie has that mellifluous voice that knocks me out

oh Frank, it's horrible, I can't watch
my father went the same way

Ron Karkovice

Christian Bale would be a kickass Ted Williams. He'd have to learn to swing lefty, though.

never mind this
where's the Ted Williams biopic? Seriously, you couldn't make a kick-ass movie about Teddy Ballgame? Crushing baseballs, flying jets, the dude was badass with a capital ASS

the Hot Shots movies always made me think that Sheen would have been great if he had gone the Leslie Nielsen route and stuck with the "walking parody of a leading man" parts.

people, please, a riot is a dangerous unt ugly zhing … AND I ZHINK ITS ABOUT TIME ZAT WE HAD ONE!

oh great, it's Larry David: Wood Detective

@Corleone - Leno took the 10 PM show because he got a bazillion-dollar contract to do it. And that's really all he cared about, getting paid to be on TV. It was NBC's stupid move to give him the show rather than take a chance that he goes to ABC.

yeah, the original sin was NBC promising Conan the show in 2004 (to keep him from jumping to Fox) while Leno was still killing it in the ratings and showing no signs of slowing down. Once that happened it was all going to go to shit eventually.

well, having read "The Late Shift" I can say that no one should have expected Leno to act with class. He is absolutely driven to succeed on TV at all costs, and he didn't care about elbowing Letterman out of the way, so why should he give a shit about Conan?

I take a back seat to no man in my loathing of Jay Leno, but I've come around to the position that you can't say that he "stole" the show back from Conan. Leno is a heartless, cynical man, but it's not like he engineered the situation. He got the show back because NBC acted like idiots and tried to keep both him and

didn't they recycle the FX shot of the Klingon ship exploding from Undiscovered Country?

I just had a 45-minute conversation with Fiorello LaGuardia, and he's been dead for 30 years!

the American Indian Movement was really big in the 1970s, and there was some pretty dramatic events from it, like the Wounded Knee incident - http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…

I met a woman last week who was very cute, smart, early 30s maybe, but had the absolute worst smoker's voice I had ever heard. She sounded like a 60-year-old trucker. Also, there was that awful bitter smell coming from her. Why do people do this to themselves?

has been so long that people forget what the NASCAR championship used to be called? The Winston Cup? Yeah, Winston wasn't a guy.

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health … what have the Romans ever done for us?

all I'm going to say is, if you have never found Madelaine Khan to be funny, you are not a man. And if you're a Jewish man and have never been madly in love with Madelaine Khan, then you are not a Jewish man.

I think Cusack at least pulled out the deglamorizing in High Fidelity. He could have been just a loser with a record store
