Well, if there's one thing we learned, it's that the sentence "He needs stem cells in him right now!” must always be accompanied by that header image.

Scully would NEVER get a B+ in AP Biology… unless that's the plot. Scully gets a B+ in AP Biology and then questions her teacher about it and it turns out it was a typo and she gets it fixed to A+ ::cue theme music::

I started grad school in 2007 and just finished last year. I was really trying very hard not to round up that number of years to ten.

New Girl's second credit sequence deserves… maybe not a dis-award, but something like a "Why…wha…what exactly were you thinking here guys?" befuddlement award.

Otherwise excellent article though.

My area has shifted quite a bit throughout adulthood but Philly is the site of my origin story if you will.

That is exactly what I wanted. Phew.

I think the difference for me was that I played the NES Zelda games as a small child, and my mind was all squishy and non-linear back then, so I was happy to spend hours just wandering around the world, not really accomplishing anything. (I probably first played the original Zelda when I was around six, and didn't

I loved that the sexualized Great Fairies were also terrifying. Very otherized-not-quite-human-power-goddess.

I name Link "L'il Buddy" because it's fun to watch everyone condescend to him. "You really saved the day, L'il Buddy!" etc etc.

I find LttP to be a little bit "OMG olden-day video games why do I have to reply the beginning of this dungeon five hundred times because I keep dying one door away from the boss?" So how you feel about that kind of hardness of older-school video games may affect which one you elevate as your favorite.

I always found the "ugly and clunky" to add to the atmosphere of the game. Like, this is a weird world where visuals don't quite match up to the human world. It gave it a touch of "otherness" if you will. And that worked for both OoT and MM.

I would like to say that I didn't like Skyward Sword for a principled reason, but it turns out the reason I didn't finish it was because I couldn't master Zelda using that new-fangled Wii remote. So the real reason is that I'm an old person :(

Hey now. Arwen sewed him a flag that one time. Do you know any trophies who can sew flags? Hmm?

I agree in general, but in specific, I think on X-Files they wrote themselves into a corner where the characters should either be together or the show needs to address why they're not together, and they chose neither of those. And then viewers eventually just lost interest.

I also started out rooting for the platonic friendship, but then they kept writing the characters/story in such a way that it was not really believable for them not to be in a romantic relationship but then someone (Chris Carter? Fox execs?) kept them from being in a romantic relationship (until too late) and it kind

It's still clipping though. The term just refers to the morphological process of shortening a word. There's no requirement for the etymology of the new word to remain transparent synchronically.
