I genuinely do. He's got undeniable onscreen charisma, and he has shown a fair amount of range in his career. And at the risk of skirting close to your "one atypical role" caveat, I've liked his work in stuff like Rain Man, Magnolia, and Collateral alongside his more "typical" work in stuff like MI3, Minority Report,

Counterpoint: The Catholic Church has been protecting pedophiles in their organisation for years.

Awesome. Thanks!

I understand these words individually, but put in that order, they make no sense to me.

So this is as good a thread as any to ignite this discussion; with the cancellations of Ben and Kate and Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23, and the shifting of Happy Endings to Fridays (*sniff*), I figure I'll check out New Girl, since the unanimous consensus is that it's a much better show than its shitty, shitty

Justified has more nuance in its pinky toe than The Following has as a whole.

Starring Mandy Moore and Hayden Christensen!

It really isn't. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's the pitch Kripke used to get the show on air in the first place.

"tuesdays used to be super crowded for me to the point where my dvr couldnt handle it.  but since half the shows i like have gotten moved or canceled it is now not crowded at all"

The Supernatural notification brought me here, and the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was "Yep, that's old-school Sam and Dean, all right."

Better Korine than Werner Herzog.

I'm going to do an obligatory "and this is why you always need a note" attempt to deflect from my misplaced righteousness with a pop culture reference, rather than actually apologising for my dickishness.

"Allison Janney and Matthew Perry? It's the Mr. Sunshine mini-reunion I've been waiting for!" Said nobody ever, not even the creator of Mr. Sunshine.

Breakers goes wide next week. This may be it for Poppy Hill, though.

You totally did nail that, Tobias. Congratulations.

I'm surprised you didn't declare a gritty reboot of Bosom Buddies was in the works.

There's a mindset of "a half hour show should be funny like a sitcom" that's slowly starting to get deconstructed. Louie is another show that suffers from people questioning whether it's a comedy, when it's really not meant to be.

I don't think you're really supposed to like any of the characters on Girls, atleast any of the main 4. It's a chronicling of the lives of, well, girls, at this particular point in their lives, be it good, bad, or ugly. I never got the "you must like these people no matter how shitty they act" vibe from this show.

I'm going to do an obligatory rabble here about snapping to pre-judgments on tv shows, especially tv shows that feature the very underrated Vera Farmiga in the lead role.

"- The form of torture used on Frankie Flowers is mixing chili powder in soda water, and then setting it off in Frankie’s nose. Apparently, it’s a common torture method in Mexico, and it can often be fatal."
