I think Walt did a good enough job hiding it that the only way it's killing anybody he's not targetting with it is if it ends up in a game of iocane powder.

Mike would likely know that the stick up Walt's ass would favor a methylamine cook and it would be the ingredient that would require the most connections to get, and he was looking for an excuse not to kill Lydia. In the BB universe, almost everything else for the cook seems to be available in mass quantities OTC.

His plan should be to kill Walt ASAP. Otherwise, why wouldn't he just find another chemist? I think he's just working with Walt to keep him close enough to kill him before Walt gets him killed, intentionally or otherwise.
