Another thing to keep in mind about Skyler : like Walt, she, too, had an out.  In the same way Walt could have taken Eliot's money for his cancer treatments, Skyler could have divorced Walt in season 3.  Her lawyer was ready to roll — all Skyler had to do was give the OK.  Walt even signed the divorce papers!
