I miss Achewood :(

I interpreted it as him turning OFF the auto-pilot.  The cutaway to the exterior showed the plane gaining altitude, something that the auto-pilot generally wouldn't do.

Yeah, C seems really harsh when you remember that the AV Club Rubric is to grade it compared to other shows of the same series & genre.

I thought the same thing re: the bag line.

Yup.  I generally can't stand CSI-style procedurals, but we still DVR this and NCIS:LA every week.  It can be cheesy at times, but it's rarely painful to watch.

I don't understand why she didn't go to Kinko's, get them scanned, then upload them somewhere that will automatically distribute the file if she doesn't activate a Dead Man's Switch every [x] days.  At least that's what I'd do.

My wife and I have been having a lot of discussions lately re: Chekov's [X] lately.  And there really is often a point where something goes from foreshadowing to outright telegraphing, it's kinda sad.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS LITTLE SHOW CALLED THE WIRE

I KNOW HE DID ALL OF HIS OWN STUNTS!

Also I believe that Carrie is supposed to be a bit of a sex addict, at least according to pre-show publicity.  Thus far it's only been hinted at.  (Wiping off her inner thighs in one of her first scenes and the guy she starts to hook up with in the bar.)

"Kate Cameron, Sky Spy!" wouldn't work on USA.  They already have Covert Affairs, which leans pretty heavily on the "babe in the woods" premise from time to time.

That's pretty much the way I first read it

I agree.  It's fun seeing a "revenge" every week, but sooner or later one of these needs to blow up in her face.  Or at least be unsuccessful.

Damn, that is a good idea!

Yeah, it's very similar to how he played Winters in Band of Brothers after he shot the young German soldier.  (The last time he fired his weapon in combat, natch.)  A good mix of remorse and bewilderment.

Yeah, but he's a character actor so it doesn't count.

Yeah, I had seen some good buzz, but I was not holding my breath at all.

@avclub-20788f405e0ea98bab0017f5dd373cdb:disqus - you nailed it, I KNEW that scene felt familiar

I just saw (the first half of) this a few weeks back and thought the exact same thing.  There was nothing enjoyable about it, and not just in that "disturbing movie that is still good cinema" way.

very much so
