Disappointing? No way, get out of here. It was great, and I say that as a huge fan of slasher movies and campy b-movies. Absolutely loved season 1, and looking forward to season 2. (But wish they'd gone the summer camp direction.)

A very bad list. Most of the public clamoring for 007 to be something other than what James Bond currently is are likely not fans of the series, and therefore want it to change so that they can have an entry point that suits them. Can everyone just calm down and let the series be what the producers want it to be?

I totally thought the headline was "Pitchfork comes out" - as in, the website Pitchfork had come out as gay.

"Willis's", not "Willis'".

She's hilarious; stop intellectualizing comedy. Sheesh. Her first special was great and I'm looking forward to watching this one, too.

American Horror Story feels less like the product of an auteur and more like a chance for Ryan Murphy to remind us that the following are monstrous: cheating husbands/fathers, close-minded Christians, slave-owners, serial killers and Nazis. This is not an unsympathetic opinion, and indeed should be widely held, but

I don't understand why Cameron Esposito has a residency here at the AV Club.

I love O'Neal's Bieber pieces.

All I'll say is it's *VERY* interesting that they called murder of a Guilty Remnant a hate crime. Very interesting. Hmm. - Sonia Saraiya

Fuck you

I like this idea that Cohle could have been quoting someone else, not Pizzolatto. It's actually an interesting angle, and it makes sense, given the show's context.

you should post more

ONE season had 62 episodes?????

No, he does not have a spotty track record when it comes to magic:
1. Purple Rose of Cairo had figuratively magical elements, but featured no magic or magician.
2. What was used in the movie Alice wasn't magic; it was eastern medicine.
3. Oedeipus Wrecks (from New York Stories) featured magic, to good effect.
4. Scoop

Note to Sonia: In real life if someone had killed a member of a cult in the way this had happened, it, too, would have been labeled a hate crime. I think you should amend that statement. Cheers.

I just don't *care* enough about the GR. They're not written uniformly. I'm apathetic toward them. I want them to either all die or I want to have a reason to be sympathetic toward them or find some vulnerability in them - so far, only Patty is the human one among them - even Meg's joining them just doesn't make sense

I'm not a believer of any sort, but I, too, think Matt is my favorite character. He has such life in him. And his episode was just so good.
