James Murphy is one of those guys that, every time you see an interview with him or read one of his messages to the press / fans, you feel happy that he's doing well. He seems like a class act over all, and this was a good move on his part.

Most of what I've heard is disgruntled local musicians who don't understand how they got such big pitchfork love before ever releasing anything. People seem to think they went about getting signed back-asswards. Maybe it is just kvetching.
Indeed
This is truly wonderful.
Seriously, who is their promoter?
Even though they are 'from Denver', they received national attention before playing a show here. Everything about their recent rise seems very suspicious.
@GeoGreg - I'm in pretty much the same boat. I'm now listening to a copy of 'HaHa Sound', and am finding it very nice.
Bands I predict will fail spectacularly (thanks to internet hype):

No thanks necessary - it's my job.
Why did it take so long to put this motion in?
Throwing my hat in for Bill Bryson as well. When I was taking 6 roadtrips a year at 14 hours apiece during school, his works really helped the time pass. It's the kind of stuff that is only moderately interesting to read, but is fascinating compared to a highway.
I'm working and I'm ENCOURAGED to listen to music. And post on music-type places like this.
So Amy Winehouse is the less talented crack whore version of Sharon Jones, and Duffy is the less interesting version of Amy Winehouse?
!!! is on the whack band name list, for sure.
I like their albums.
Nor is there and Edward Sharpe in the Magnetic Zeroe. And the Deadstring Brothers are really the Cullum Brothers (et. al.)
I heard the Big 3 killed Jack White's baby - maybe he could offer some insight after he's finished making fun of up tight record collectors on Third Man's fan forums.
WAIT -
The Black Keys
re-release of Brothers is totally worth it, especially since I never got around to buying it when it was released. Two 12" 45's of the album + a CD copy, a 10" 45 of live material, and a beautiful package + poster.
