7 Seconds has always been more loveable than good. And I mean that as a compliment, since they're already better than most hardcore bands.

Manic Compression sounds pretty dated, but Slip holds up. Quicksand's first 7" was life-changing for me.
I dunno about SOIA. They played Boston a lot in the early 90's and seemed to really cater to the violent dickhead demographic that was coming to shows back then. Not sure if you can blame the band for all the fights that broke out, but I eventually stopped sticking around when they'd headline.
Easily the loudest band I've ever seen, and I've seen Motorhead. But yeah, the rap/rock thing felt pretty opportunistic even back then. Now it's pretty hard to take seriously.
Hard to beat Firestorm, but I think Destroy the Machines is pretty solid. That's usually my go-to EC record.
Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Quicksand, Rival Schools, his solo stuff. Just realized that Walter has made more music that is meaningful to me than anyone else.
The John Doe song on that album gets me every time.
Fun fact: Craig Wedren was the vocal coach for the "Afternoon Delight" scene in Anchorman. http://articles.latimes.com…
Don't forget the first 7". Two of those songs appeared on Slip, but I prefer these.
Ian's always come across as a refreshing cross between idealism and pragmatism. People focus on the dogma, but I think he's shown a lot of us how to live right without being ridiculous.
He was standing cool by his window.
I've heard for years about how Hispanic kids love them some Moz, but I didn't really believe it until I saw the shows in McAllen and Beaumont. Wow.
PEDs are illegal because the majority of fans want them to be. If the sport is perceived as dirty, athletes make less money because people don't watch. Some sports don't care (see MLB, NFL), but competing clean matters to fans of most Olympic sports.

The UCI is a signatory to the World Anti Doping Agency code, which means that they don't have a choice, especially since Lance refused to go to arbitration.

I always laughed at how 7 Seconds wouldn't play anything past Satyagraha live. Great song, terrible album.
The FSU absolutely ruined hardcore in Boston. By 1993, nobody could book shows in clubs because of the fights. The Channel got really scary for a while.
Absolutely. Read Kenneth Rexroth's appraisal here: http://www.bopsecrets.org/r…
