I really liked the Kill Your Idols documentary. It was on Netflix a few years ago. Opened my eyes to more protopunk and no wave music, since I only really knew, of the people featured in the doc, Sonic Youth and Gogol Bordello at the time.

It's not post-apocalyptic though, it's just dystopia. And to be fair, we haven't seen much of the badlands itself, just the relative safety of the Fort. And I think everything looks sufficiently "dirty," the area where the kids trained and the city place Sunny goes to were not gorgeous like the poppy fields.
