I know I'm late to the party on this one, but that's about the best firstie takedown I can think of. Well played, Mr. Westen.

Agree with the reiview.
"this turns out to be a generally fun mission, which basically revolves around Michael's ability to perform Jedi mind tricks on everyone who really should have simply shot him on sight. "
*thought of a line*
I have a suspension of disbelief for a lot of these light dramas. The Miami of Burn Notice seems to tolerate a lot more C-4 "incidents" than in real life, and the premise of Suits has developed into something beyond its naive-savant wunderkind beginnings.
Uh, I meant facing westbound traffic in the above post, obviously.
Re: billboards on I-70.
But apes are omnivores. Wouldn't future-PETA be protesting these superapes who should know better about their dietary preferences?
"Giamatti-lite"? I guess so. I was actually thinking he looked like a younger Frank Oz, circa "Trading Places". But to each his own.
Sorry to disappoint, but he's featured prominently in the promos and has been in all of the episodes so far.
Is Max really dead?
I missed last week's discussion, so apologies if I'm retreading a topic, but are we sure that Max is really dead? The editing of the supposed death scene (blood, but no sight of a bullet wound), the hasty exit forced on Michael, Max's uncharacteristically unhelpful death declaration, didn't…
[Imitates Bugs Bunny imitating Steve Buscemi]."
Well, I can't argue with that. I'm trying to figure out whether the silly accents are a self-awarenes by the writers or not.
You're right. I was light on viewing season 1, so I didn't pick up on it until I saw the comments here. The self-awareness of the past abuse would have been even more conflicting while Michael was playing the role.
It ain't the Tequila. Gless' role tonight had a lot of layers to sort through (play-acting an abuse victim of her son as play-abuser that echoed the real-abuser husband/father from way back when), but she sold me on her twitchy reaction to Michael's first tirade that we learned had a real history, that apparently…
I don't see the "irony" in the vocational irony narrative.
After watching the episode and reading the review, I don't see the parallel to House. In that show, it's demonstrated over and over that he's a superdoctor who can't keep his own domicile in order. Dr. Dani actually does look like someone who lucked into the…
Seconded on Life on Mars (US). I realize that premature cancellation and DVD sales considerations require a wrap-up, but the way they did it was was awful. The producers said they were planning that all along, and maybe it would have been worth it if we had a few seasons of on and off relations between Sam and…
Speaking of L&O attorney roles, there was a cameo at the beginning of the episode by Tovah Feldshuh, who played defense attorney Danielle Melnick several times on the original series.
They're gonna let me watch the interrogation of some poor patsy from behind the mirror? Awesome. What could possibly go wrong?
I'm having trouble with the premise for this show. A photographic memory and reading a lot of law books doesn't translate to a powerful tool in the legal profession. Hell, law firms have CD-ROMs and Lexis memberships to do what this kid can do, and they don't have to pay out health care for them.
The Greatest Frank of All on MST3K
I seem to remember that although the plot of this show involved the possible departure of "Frank" and they played that song during the show, but the real purpose of the song was in the closing credits, to honor Frank Zappa, who had just recently passed away.
