Even without the heavy makeup, I recognized her. I understand the actress trying to outgrow an iconic TV commercial series, and I hear she has some decent comedy chops at the Groundlins. Ir's a pity this episode didn't give her much to do tonight except cry, and to argue from a distant shot.

Great performance by Anna Torv
Since so much of this episode rested on how convinced Olivia was who she thought she was, the transition from dead-cold self-confidence (without sounding desperate) in the dialogue with the psychiatrist and the cabbie, to her conflicted encounter with her Earth-2 mother, was fascinating

We shall undercome
*sigh*

A regular time spot?
ESPN's running two hours of poker every Tuesday night for the next several weeks, and they moved those shows back an hour (9ET-11ET) for this show and another 30 for 30 next week. Maybe the 8ET time slot will be a new home for new episodes?

I can remember quote by Kim Deal about Corgan when the Breeders and SP were doing Lollapolooza '94: "I want the pill he has. The pill that makes him think he's so fucking important".

Yikes.

I beg to differ.
"The satire here is blunt (the head protester is an orangutan named Dr. Banjo), which doesn't make it any less amusing. Plus, it's refreshing to see a show get as pointedly vicious as this about a subject that too often gets coddled in media in the name of even-handed discussion."

Turla from "Scrubs"
With all of the screwing around J.D. and Elliot did on the show (both separate and together), the writers made sure to counterpoint that with the "stable" relationship that ran deep between Turk and Carla.

Among the things that have threatened the earth
This wasn't quite as good as the attack of the brains episodes, but much better than "Beast With a Billion Backs".

I hadn't thought of that. No more foot chases up in the one-twenties, more car chases a la TJ Hooker?

OK, but not great.
There were a few moments of genius (loved the robosex off-camera scene with the backing-up *beep* *beep* *beep*, though the heavy drilling makes me wonder how an intimate scene between Bender and Amy would have played out).

My favorite so far this seasson.
The one-off jokes were right on target. It was nice to see a plot revolve around Bender and Hermes, and it was a thoughtful message about the mortality of a machine. Gonna give this episode an A minus.

This dude says he can sell you a DVD of the movie, and judging by the photo, he really seems to be into making the sale.

Solid episode
Not one of the all-time greats, but the writing was a lot sharper than the other episodes since the renewal. At least this week, the one-off jokes were more focused around the main plot.

I recall an episode of Laverne and Shirley where Lenny and Squiggy dream themselves to be the pioneers of rock and roll. They do a version of "Call the Police" that really does rock (not the cheesy version on YouTube from another episode).

Pretty mediocre stuff
I didn't care enough to research, but the way this episode's plot points were so misshapen, it seems either a) this pilot episode was intended to be longer, or b) the concept of the show got switched around after the pilot was through filming. The subplot involving the teenagers was a waste of

Oh, absolutely. The narration is the most important part of the show. I have no idea whether the advice works in the real cloak and dagger world, but here it adds plausibility to the development of the plots for each show. Otherwise, if the viewer were just supposed to take at face value the surprises from the

Fi's Irish accent…
It dipped in and out more noticeably than usual. Amirite?

Well, to be fair, the second part of that advice was relevant to the story - even if the bad guys were thwarted by Michael and Co., they would eventually be back once they saw the coast was clear. But if the doctor himself stood up to them (added with some C-4, a back story, and creating a situation between the bad

"Lucy Gets Locked in a Vault" - isn't that *the* bottle episode, the one that started the trend?
