Nirvana, Pearl Jam
Back when I was a student at the University of Kansas, Nirvana played the Student Union back in September of 1991 - right around the time the video was released. Missed it. I lived within walking distance of the show, and I missed it.

I wasn't trying to be condescending, so I apologize if it came across that way. If I didn't know who the Royals TV broadcasters were back then, I would have reasonably thought the same as Noel. But when the same broadcasters called Griffey's home run later on, that would have been good evidencce of which broadcast

Somewhere in the tristate area…
…there's a guy in his 20s who said back when he was 8 or 9 years old that he can die in peace, now that the Rangers have won the Stanley Cup.

I agree. To have one of the most widely televised chain of events explained by yet more footage of talking heads explaining what happened would have weakened the show.

Picking nits here, but…
That comment at the Royals-Mariners game in Kansas City was by the Seattle broadcasters. They're the ones who got excited over Griffey's home run.

I was in a crowded sports bar in Lawrence, Kansas that Friday night. As the people watched the chase on the TVs, it was as quiet as a crowd of a couple hundred could be. Eerie.

Well, it was 12 minutes ago when I started that post. So much for attempted comedy on my part.

…Grapabo contemplated posting a firstie. But then he poured himself a drink and decided to watch "Family Guy" rerun on Adult Swim.

Liked it more than disliked it
The acting was more over the top this week than last (I'm thinking of Detective Dan threatening to throw down with a laptop, the highly accentuated ethnicities of each pair of villains). Maybe if I squint a little and make believe this is an animated series, those exaggerations will

This is fun.
This was a fitting ending to a phenomenal run of episodes (andyes, including the musical as a pause in the heavy drama).

Awesome. Thanks.

"Law & Order is a "liberal" show that makes excellent use of New York City. I'm wondering how that's going to translate to LA."

What could have been
I stopped watching a while ago, but it's still a bummer that an intriguing idea got muddled down in irrelevant side stories. It couldn't pull off a mystery angle (the hiatus may have contributed to that). It played up the human interest angle a whole lot, but not very well at all.

"The Honky and the Homeboy"?

Best villain: Larry Miller - twice.

"does TNT even show the old episodes anymore? at least A&E changed it up a bit."

Time-wasting on FG
I can imagine the meeting with the writers on FG:

Martha Plimpton
"her accent was kind of weird in tonight's episode"

B- grade
I like Martha Plimpton's work, but the writing of her character seemed to be all over the place. She's a UFO devotee, then her family was murdered. I understand they wanted her to be a counterpoint to Peter's personal crisis, but the writers seemed to pick two inchoate themes instead of developing one
