How about "Hot Resort", which appears to have been given a major release to cash in on Bronson Pinchot's then-recent fame for his "Beverly Hills Cop" role.

"Champagne Supernova" - listened to the song a bunch back in '96, still like it, but the lyrics are a jumbled mess.

who is "the secretary"
The next to last scene where the guy on the bridge is being rehabilitated after crossing over. We only see a hand. Is this a confirmation of previous commenters' speculation on who might be behind the shapeshifter missions and earth-2 crosovers?

12 monkeys derivative?
i checked out of this show in recent weeks. This summary makes the show a litle more intriguing, but isn't this the reverse of the plot to "12 monkeys"? In that movie, someone from the future was trying to change the past to avoid a horrible fate. With the introduction of this character, we

At the end, I was expecting "Tom Cruise" to be taken to the Big Gay Al's sanctuary for gay pets. After all, he was one of the few characters not yet mentioned. But alas, I erred.

I chuckled inappropriately
…when James Heath is looking at the pictures on the floor of Olivia's apartment, overcome with sorrow, after she wacked him over the head. I realized that the title of the episode was a - how shall I say it? - a red herring.

Oh, one other thing. According to ESPN's web site, the next showing of this will be a couple of times on Saturday, May 4.

Great story, imperfect execution.
I just caught the replay tonight. I was aware of the basic details, but a lot of the foreshadowing I wasn't aware of (that Gathers had had a previous medical scare on the court), and made this all the more tragic. The mere fact that a human being was leaping to perform an enormously

Oh yeah, I remember…
…these are the songs that made me tone deaf to new music.

If you're going to do non-obvious cultural gags, they have to be right on point. For example, the exterior shot of the "Hotel Spitzer" on The Cleveland Show *kind of* looks like the design of the Mayflower Hotel, but the former NY governor was caught in the D.C. Mayflower Hotel, not New York. Which made the joke not

Mr. Monkey gets showered with dollar bills.
Mr. Monkey proceeds to fuck anything that moves.
Mrs. Monkey in hair curlers shows up battering Mr. Monkey over the head in front of the rest of the monkey community.
All the other monkeys point at Mr. Monkey and laugh.

There's definitely a template here

I can understand the phenomenon. But a lot of the pop charts between 1996 and 1999 were filled with one-hit wonders. Or, to put it in album timelines, Beck's second album in the summer of 1996 spurred a lot of video airplay ("Devil's Haircut", "Where It's At", etc.) Eminem's first big album came out in early 1999.

Parker and Stone had a movie character named "Choada Boy" before their South Park run. Complete with floppy fake dick on top of his skull.

David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" took smoking to near-pornographic levels with its repeated closeups of a lit cigarette.

Do I get any points for actually paying money to a theatre back in circa 1992 to watch "32 Short Films About Glenn Gould"? For a biopic, it was very imaginative in its presentation, and was the template for "22 Short Films About Springfield" (which is one of my favorite episodes for simply daring to use a completely

A qualified positive review
I priced in some of the plot points for the finale - there'd be some stressful situation for Michael with a villain bigger than any of the prior ones. I also priced in some cliffhanger - at least this time it left out an obvious exposition of who that villain was, and was a true
