They aren't dating yet and didn't she try that in the first episode of this season and he told her to eff off?
@avclub-097fdff1eefae7180f5ec716a83dd3a3:disqus I think so. After all, we didn't see Curtis go back in time and convince the gang that they needed to kill the milk guy or see Belmondo steal a car in Breathless.
Was he even malicious though? Apart from the one shot of Simon and him on the roof after Simon had beat up the others, it seemed he was trying to help Simon. Even having him break up with Alisha was for their own good. His plans were awful, but then again he is the one who stole a girl's handbag to impress her. And…
What else could they have done? Peter wasn't exactly evil and despite the high body count, they aren't killers unless they absolutely have to be. Simon trying to persuade Peter he didn't need to (or shouldn't) use his powers the way Peter did seems reasonable enough to me.
Demons is probably my favorite Dostoevsky. It has the best characters—Stavrogin, Kirilov, Stepan Verkhovensky—, a ripped from the headlines plot (read about Nechayev and his catechism if you haven't already), and incredible depth. Not to mention At Tikhon's. I hope you like it.
"Oh come now, he'll find a way to defund these damn things by that time."
And what about the bacteria? Geesh.
Huh. I guess Toto really wasn't in Kansas.
Considering that it is the House of Representatives that terrifies me the most, a congressman/terrorist sounds realistic.
What about Garfield?
I not sure why duration=significance (or is a prerequisite for it). Life loses significance for Borges' Immortals because there is nothing they have not or will not do, repeatedly. To live forever would only devalue my life and the significance of my choices. What is precious is the transient; the eternal—if it exists…
It's probably inspired by Lucretius, Book III, l. 971-976:
Don't forget Doctor D from End of the Road.
Though shouldn't one be checking under the bed for Ma Peacock and not the closet?
The proposal of any new law or regulation of commerce which comes from this order [i.e. capitalists], ought always to be listened to with great precaution, and ought never to be adopted till after having been long and carefully examined, not only with the most scrupulous, but with the most suspicious attention. It…
Clearly the new season of Justified can't come too soon.
Though given Auberjonois started his career in Altman films, I always thought he was slumming in DS9 (not that I don't love DS9, but few things top McCabe and Mrs. Miller).
Or Cleveland.
Another error in the review: Solaris the novel is Polish, not Russian. Which is probably a matter of indifference to anyone who isn't a Stanislaw Lem fan or Polish.
