Sigh…Green Lantern.
Never forget.
Never. Forget.
Ech. Look, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a Dark Superhero movie. Nothing at all. If the movie commits to the the tone and pulls it off, great! But if it fumbles around, tries too hard to be "edgy," has awkward attempts at humor that fall flat and the dialogue sucks? Bad. But this whole stigma against the very…
I love how much of an anti-romantic subplot that was. Her dream boyfriends were literally disposable.
I thought this a pretty common thing, but I may be getting that confused with reality shows, who offer counseling to contestants afterward.
Great. Now I know this exists.
How dense do you have to be to not see that sadness is a teardrop? And for a supposed feminist, I would think the fact that the three main characters are female, none of which have any kind of romantic subplot whatsoever, would be incredibly refreshing.
Great article. I definitely cried during this one. A lot of the little tykes in my family didn't "get it" though. They love Disney and Pixar, but I think the fact that they don't yet understand their own emotions and how they work made it hard for them to connect to. Which was interesting.
YOU get a marriage! YOU get a marriage! And YOU get a marriage!
They said this about Amazing Spider-Man. "It's basically just going to be an indie highschool movie that happens to have superheroes in it!" is an actual thing that was said.
I'll believe it when I see it (on opening night, first in line, advanced tickets)
Podmass is sleepin' on Hollywood Handbook. Last week's ep with Erin Whitehead was hysterical.
Yeah he's just…a guy. He's just a guy that exists.
At first I thought TPAB didn't have as many great songs as MAAD city, but…nah. It's pretty flawless. It all grows you eventually.
It definitely works best as an album, though. I have a hard time just listening to one song from it (aside from King Kunta, which is song of the year IMO). Everything works much better in…
I only ever listened to the first song. Not because the rest of the album was bad, it's just that Nobody's Empire is such a great song I immediately wanted to listen to it again right after hearing it.
Had the privilege of seeing Sufjan Stevens live a couple months back. One of the most stunningly beautiful concerts I've ever attended. It was at a gorgeous theater, for one. I was worried that all the hipster kids would try to treat it like a rock show and shout/scream/mosh the whole time. But everyone was…
Anchorman was the same way, if I remember. Will Ferrell was just hired as a writer originally. What is it with these Wills?
My favorite is him using "That is," and "…to be precise" in the same sentence. "And also, if you catch my drift, we laid some pipe, if you know what I'm sayin'"
"But I also think it was at a time when these serialized shows were still relatively new for current audiences. Now there’s a lot of shows like that, but at the time, The Killing was really and truly one of a kind, so people were still used to having things wrapped up in a bow."
I mean…no. I love the Killing (not so…
Maybe he's worried that such a revelation about his past would start a slippery slope that ends with the world finally discovering that he himself is a CURRENT slave-owner.
I enjoy the basic gameplay of Assassin's Creed—Black Flag in particular. And they always have weirdly good acting across the board, which is surprising not only because it's a videogame, but a now bi-annual videogame franchise. They just completely lose me with the sci-fi garbage. I don't know why they wouldn't just…
Is he related to Chester Copperpot?
