This movie was ridiculously good. Immediately stands out as one of the best, if not THE best Pixar film. I was sure their best work was behind them, but boy did they prove me wrong. And the animation? Jesus Eff it's good. Bob Clampet, Chuck Jones, Walt Disney level shit.
HOWEVER.
The Good Dinosaur still looks pretty

He's not even human! Just a damned lazy cat!

I don't know. I think a gay Spider-Man set in high school would be pretty perfect: the whole series has always been about puberty, and how you're not comfortable with who you are yet. Trying to hide who you really are because you're afraid of how it would affect everyone around you, what people would think of

I consider Bendis' run on Ultimate Spider-Man to be the best comics incarnation of the character, and from what I've read of the Miles Morales stuff it's as good as anything he's done. I'm psyched.
Beyond the obvious awesomeness of expanding racial diversity in comics, from a fan standpoint Peter Parker has become a

" So if Jackson managed that across 3 movies simultaneously, yeah he deserves credit for the whole thing working, not despite his great collaborators but because of them."
Oh that's not what I was saying. Clearly Jackson is an immensely talented filmmaker; if anything this article confirms that Jackson is responsible

I heard at one point she even said "Don't wait! Just tell me!"
The very idea…

That's fair, but I also don't think they bothered to get *too* into the super evil stuff for that movie, so it worked. It would be hard to picture him doing anything in the last three or four books of that series, which are just dark as fuck.

Greengrass in particular, because it's not like the Bourne movies (which were so influential that they forever changed the way hollywood action movies were shot) had a ton of dramatic moments outside of the action. It would be interesting to see what exactly he directed in contrast to the second unit.
Spielberg is my

My name is Jake and that commercial has ruined my life.

I still have never met a jew that talked like Watto.
But obviously whoever played Watto talked like that, so there's at least one.

To be fair, it was a REALLY weird looking Yoda puppet in the theatrical release of TPM. He just looked…wrong.

Totally agreed. I still think if you skip the romance scenes you've got a really watchable, fun Obiwan Adventures movie.
And that clone planet is dope.

To be honest, upon rewatch, he's one of the highlights of Phantom Menace. He actually seems like a real kid, and he's the only human cast member who put any kind of energy into his performance. All the adults seem like they're about the fall asleep.

This is my question as well. The way I read it, the second unit was almost entirely responsible for ALL of the big action moments in that sequence, with Jackson perhaps stepping in to do the smaller character/dramatic moments.

My takeaway from this is that the second unit is to blame for Thunderball being so impossibly boring.

This is the best feature on AV Club for my non-money. It's incredible that the massive action sequences and battles, which most would consider to be the hallmark of Jackson's Middle Earth movies, are almost entirely second-unit directed. Jackson had little to do with one of the defining aspects of his films.

I was about to make the same comment. And the fact that he uses so many practical effects makes it even more impressive to me. A lot of the stuff that I thought was entirely CGI in Interstellar was just projectors and lights, and the robot was a practical piece of equipment.
God damn it, Interstellar is an under-rated

She was genuinely great in it. Had the movie been more popular I think she would be a huge star right now.

Well said. I always love to read the thoughts of people who value these books as much as me.

I defy anyone to name a better choice for Olaf, though. Carrey plays it exactly the way Olaf is in the book—a dark, flamboyant wannabe actor who treats everything like a production wherein he's the star.
