Frankly, the only oral history I've read in longform novel format and thoroughly enjoyed was the SNL one by Tom Shales. The variety of personage offering their anecdotes over a much more shared pop culture reference like SNL was highly entertaining. This book looks niche and i'm being a bit generous with that.
