My first thought was "Michael Smiley is guest-starring". He's my rule of thumb for picking an Ulster accent. Although according to wikipedia, he didn't grow up in Derry.
Following from my last post:
I thought the story of the teacher was so beautiful, small and sad - a man who had gone above what would be expected to do his part for society, had positively influenced the lives of countless people, yet became disillusioned about the things he couldn't change and went off to fight a battle he could ultimately never…
I don't think Joan necessarily does have all her stuff together, and there have been several clues over the course of the series that this is the case, but as you point out, she does a better job of bottling up some of her more serious issues, plus she's been in a pretty good place (and things have been going well for…
COCKS!
It's a ridiculous comparison - I love Legit. I'm really looking forward to it coming back etc. etc. but comparing it to Louie reminds me of the people who compared Louie to Seinfeld when it came out. IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT KIND OF SHOW.
no it isn't
One of my very early TV memories is of poor Mattie flying off the roof garden (I've seen the orignal many, many times since then. I think it was one of the first DVDs I ever bought).
even if it's only an hour or two a week though? Surgeons need to be good at managing their time - I don't think that side of it is a problem.
he didn't go out of his way, she basically was using him to get him to look at her case files (so to speak). I thought his explanation that it was (mostly) about advancing the case was sound enough.
secret lesbian lover theme is always hot :)
Actually I think if you watch closely enough we do get occasional clues as to the sort of person Joan is, it's just a lot more subtle because she is a lot better at compartmentalizing her issues. We certainly know how important trust and boundaries are to her. I suspect Moriarty might have been very close to the mark…
It did feel a little bit out of the blue, the only possible foreshadowing I can think of is in Tremors when Bell or Gregson expressed surprise that the schizophrenic guy had a girlfriend, Joan pointed out "you don't know what he was like on his meds".
I don't get it. I've been giving this show a chance because it sounded like such a promising concept (Parks and Rec in a Police station), but it's as if they decided to FOX it up (deliberately dumb it down?) a bit by making the actors a bit hotter, the jokes a bit more obvious and the emotional beats a little more on…
The trick is to enjoy the ride.
I think it will be interesting to see if Randy ever works out that Sherlock is a terrible, TERRIBLE sponsor. Or if he dies with a needle in his arm first. Sure Sherlock could learn to be a better person by helping Randy get clean but I think Randy either dying or seriously damaging himself would fit in even better…
Yeah I looked for the episode cast on IMDB before I made that post but she wasn't there yet. I think Gay, Gaye and Gai are all in use (there's a very famous racehorse trainer over here called Gai, probably why I went for that one). I think she should be Gay. It's more efficient that way.
"I'm Gai"
"I'm not"
another non-burper here. I suspect what would happen is that I would lie down on my stomach and let loose a truly spectacular fart.
