I was not aware of that. Good point then!

Sherlock has been trying to "improve" himself in this respect all season. The real question is WHY he reverted to "being an ass to others" this episode. I've written about it further up (possibly many times, depending on what hasn't been deleted by the new system), but makes perfect sense when you think about it.

To be fair, it was acknowledged very early on that a polygraph is fallible and that it is inadmissible in a court of law. It was also noted that the real reason Bundsch wasn't arrested first time around was that the cops had no evidence and only looked at him because the victim's sister was obsessed with him. It was

I hadn't heard it. I'm now glad I have

It was actually "play like your mother just died, then you found out she was alive again"

It ain't cool being a jib turkey so close to Thanksgiving….

It's not absurd. In any workplace environment people feel better about themselves if they are good at their jobs. And these cops are good at their jobs. It must be galling at times to see Sherlock come in and do in five seconds the sort of stuff that takes them much, much longer, and Sherlock digging through

Keep in mind he's just had a really stressful day. He's been obviously trying harder to be nice to people all season and it's been alluded to a LOT, but after this day I think he's just been "you know what, fuck it. This is hard enough as it is. I have to be true to myself."

OK, here is my take on that last scene, which I spent an hour last night writing, was awaiting approval by a moderator and has now been somehow DELETED!!! Here is a shorter version.

To thine own self [be true]. Basically saying he can't keep pretending he's someone he's not.

If I was going to keep a woman hidden in a secret room (note i said IF - I cannot stress that highly enough), I would also have kept a big rolling case or something of the kind in front of the door.

I wasn't accusing you of that, although re-reading my comment I see how you could have seen that and I apologise. The belittling people thing I was referring to myself! Just a poor attempt at humour on my part

Yeah, dude, I don't want to be a TV snob, I don't believe in belittling people for what they watch, and I don't like telling people what to watch, but you need to watch The Wire. Now.

So Holmes tells Watson "I'm an asshole. Deal with it". Why did that take so long?

I'm sure they've tried - see here for original notification of changes to system

"I appreciate that the show at least occasionally takes the time to treat the characters like people who consider themselves protagonists in their own lives, rather than purely supporting characters who know their functions."

Maggot Brain. Play like you thought your mother died, then found out that she was alive again. And do some heroin

As an Australian, I really enjoyed the snipe at the ugg boots. Over here they are slippers and there's nothing "glorified" about them at all.

in other news, Lucy Liu has nice legs :)
