The lack of Lily Rabe made me want to Lily Rage
But seriously though, Stevie Nicks witch woman probably stole Kyle.

You're right, most of the young actors on the show (or I guess actresses this season) can't compare to Lily Rabe. Maybe partially my attitude toward it all is that I really didn't like the star crossed lovers of the first season, and I am not really looking forward to the star crossed lovers of this season.

That's true that the non-AV Club audience really did love her and her storyline in season one, and I really do agree that she is monumentally better as this innocent naive girl than the depressed badass she was supposed to be in Murder House. You are probably right in that she's supposed to be a complement to the more

I don't get Ryan Murphy's fascination with Taissa Farmiga. She just seems extremely bland to me. It especially shows in her scene with Lily Rabe who seems committed to playing a character, but Farmiga just seems very apathetic.

I really didn't enjoy that camera effect when Kurt walked into Rachel's room and how it made it seem Rachel was in some sort of daze (which anybody in her situation easily could be). It just seemed really unnecessary, and I think it contributed to this twisted sense of anticipation for Rachel's presence in the episode.

Jennifer Carpenter was the only thing keeping me coming back toward the end. Also, challenged accepted: Batista and Masuka.
