My Sister is a Werewolf

So, kind of accidentally binge watched this whole series last night. I put on an episode for my Friday movie night with friends, expecting something more of a fiasco, and eventually everyone kept asking we watch another episode. Most everyone eventually left or went to bed, but a friend and I played an elaborate game

My silly little conspiracy theory about why we're getting so many group challenges this year is that a lot of them are repurposed from a scrapped Season 2 of All Stars - they had the challenges all planned out for a bunch of pairs, but when it didn't materialize they just stuck them in this season instead.

To be fair, fairness doesn't have a lot to do with RuPaul's Drag Race.

I'd love to see that, or Match Game era Betty White. You might even be able to slip in Charles Nelson Reilly in drag now. Of course, that would be really hard to fake and would rely pretty heavily on intrapanel chemistry.

A surprisingly good Snatch Game! Didn't expect that. I feel like this one might not have peaked as high as some others, but definitely gave us more good performances than any other I can think of.

The selection of winners in S5 was pretty shady, though - no one won two challenges until everyone had won one. It felt like a reaction to Sharon basically running away with the competition from episode 1 in S4. Alaska's much-delayed win actually felt more like a vote of confidence - Ru knew she would deliver, so she

I really feel guilty that I don't enjoy them. One of my best friends loves the series, and I'll even watch him play sometimes. It looks fun enough! I'll start playing one, and beat a few bosses, and I just never get that sense of accomplishment. It feels a bit like the game doesn't have enough carrot to keep me

You know, I know the sequel gets a lot of love, but I think I like the original Suikoden's simple charms over Suikoden II. Not that there isn't a lot of love about II, but a few of the arcs grind any story momentum to a halt, and I'm just not as enamored with one of the main antagonists as others seem to be.

I did laugh at the tree mishap! I think the editors could have cobbled together a very funny video out of what they had, with flowers falling into cauldrons, accidentally tearing away too many layers, etc - really play it up as intentional. But I guess that would be unfair, or something?

I think the lack of frontrunners is making the competition part of the show more exciting, but honestly, the competition is maybe 3rd or 4th on the list of reasons why I watch this show.

I don't know that Ru has ever explicitly stated a runway look saved someone from elimination, but it definitely can move someone from borderline to safe. The dress alone might have been enough (mostly because the whole team was a mess) but the lack of effort in the beard immediately killed any goodwill.

This is just making me wonder why they didn't parody Hamlet instead of McBeth. At least there you've already got teen drama. Toss in a hilarious curtain stabbing, a queen drowning in a cosmo, and some smutty puns about fencing and call it a day.

Now I'm wondering if, in this alternate universe where RPDR has been on since the 30s, the queens would have been replaced by drag kings during WWII. Category is: Battle of the Bulge Realness. One of the kings misinterprets this and comes out in a fat suit.

Oh, how far we've come from Milk's beard on the runway being called risky.

One nice thing about this season (though a bit of a backhanded compliment) is that it's pretty hard to pick out frontrunners. Generally by this point, at least half of the remaining queens had pretty much established they were not top 3 material, and it was just a waiting game to watch them be eliminated. Usually

Cannot agree more about the format. While season 4's Untucked was sublime, it does feel like they tried to force things too much in 5 and 6 in an effort to top themselves. It eventually became increasingly clear that safe queens were less middle of the pack, more likely to create drama.

I don't know, I loved the beard line. The line about using her props as a crutch also tickled me. The episode was just so crowded, and he wasn't there for the spring/fall show, so it's hard to tell what niche he fills on the panel.

I have fun doing other things in the game, and the ultimate weapon minigames basically gate off the post game content. There's a sense of accomplishment and relief when I get through them, and even a feeling of personal pride. It's hard to describe how that's enjoyable; it's hard to say I'm having fun. The best I can

I didn't mind lightning dodging too much because it's so very mindless. Granted, you can't let your attention waiver, but it's just hitting a single button repeatedly. Oddly, I prefer the tedium to something I need to pay attention to.

They did away with the bar, but kept the system. You get messages about companions approving to varying degrees, but there's no in game system to know when you hit the magic number to trigger quests/conversations. It's the worst of both worlds.
