I'm pretty sure the chefs traded ingredients around a bit.  Paul had some scallops, which I believe Beverly pulled out of the ice.

chopped is generally amusing/interesting.  My biggest problem with it is the judging…in all the years the show has been on, they've NEVER admitted to a contestant smoking the field.  I get that they need to manufacture drama when there's none there, but it does a disservice to their contestants.

and such a fetching outfit choice.

yeah, he clearly wanted nothing to do with touching either of those beasts.

I don't know about hot.  I'd definitely go with interesting.

Any doubt that Sarah is getting plowed by Tony Mantuano was erased last night.  Can't you just hear him telling her what a pretty girl she is?

Our Whole Foods in Mass has high quality seafood, but the selection is tiny…much smaller than other supermarkets.  No way you can walk into one dead set on buying an ingredient like that.

I'm basing my willingness to hang with Ed in real life on him being referred to as a dangerous individual by David Chang in Lucky Peach.

only amusing thing was Tom saying both dishes were good, but one missed the mark, then telling Chris a minute later that it was some of the best cooking he's done on the show.

Beverly took the win.

It's not really a fad diet, per se, but the Zooey Deushewhatever episode kind of fits what your describing.

Yeah, that about sums up the block parties I've attended on Long Island.

I fail to see why Chicken Salad has to be considered boring by default.  Sure, it's usually a boring way to use up some leftover chicken, but it doesn't have to be.

The elimination challenge was flat out dumb.If you're going to tell them they need to make a dish healthy, you can't also leave an aspect of the judging in the hands of the unwashed masses without stipulating specific parameters as to what constitutes "healthy".The judges might have some concept of what is and isn't

She did look damn tall, but the pic at the top of this page doesn't make her appear much taller than the rest of the bunch.  Heels, maybe?  I think she just looked awkward because she doesn't know how to wear a dress…or buy one that flatters her shape a bit more.

Yeah, the person doing front of the house is a fool to make anything other than a cold appetizer or a dessert…Nevermind a fish dish.

The difference in Tom's comments:  During service, they're off the cuff.  During judging, they're written ahead of time by a writing staff.
