Speaking of that circa 88-92 sound, you guys (Jason and rsh) might like a British band called the Computers. Speedo produced their new album, and their sound is kinda like Hot Snakes (and the Jim Jones Revue!) Not an easy band name to google, but you can listen to them here: http://soundcloud.com/the-c…

@CabbageHead: " Doing anything with Jennifer Tilly is committing occupational suicide." There is something I want very much to do with Jennifer Tilly. Occupational suicide seems a small price to pay.

"The Knot" was so good. I am going to see them in ATL tonight. For those who haven't heard Wye Oak, their Daytrotter session is a good (and free!) introduction to their music. "Mary Is Mary" gives me goosebumps.

It would be cool to see the new Obits full-length reviewed here, but equally cool if you are reviewing it for the main music section.

"King of the Road", yes! I remember asking my mom to write down the words for me as the 45 spun on our little plastic record player. I would also sit by the radio waiting for "Hot Rod Lincoln" to come on. This was the early 70's, so I'm guessing it was Commander Cody's version.

I like what Jason said about punk/metal miscenegation — bands that can blend Black Flag with Black Sabbath (like COC, die Kreuzen, Sepultura, the Melvins and High on Fire). One new band that does this well is Red Fang. They have a great EP on Bandcamp, and a full length coming out on Relapse in April.

I wanna read Heller's punk column on AVC. I believe it will help me get over the loss of Metal Box. Not to pick on other reviewers, but "Hot Snakes with 30 percent less sneering disdain" seems like 30% less of a great thing.

Pixar was probably familiar with Janeane from her voice acting role in Kiki's Delivery Service. She's been doing voice acting for 20 years. She had major roles in Titan A.E. and The Wild.

I'm going to be that guy
who points out that it was not the original Buzzcocks lineup that split in 1981.

Thanks for the Planks, Bill M.! Dark and heavy, just the way I like my women.
