Re-reading my post, I realize it may have sounded like I was trying to defend the Irish-American support of violence and the IRA, but I was just trying to show the thought process behind these beliefs, misguided as they are.

I think the main reason corned beef and cabbage is associated with Irish American's is because many of the Irish were poor when they immigrated to the US, and corned beef is a cheaper meat. I like Zooey, but think she is slightly over-rated when it comes to singing. I will give her that she knows her singing limits and tends to stick within them, but I just don't understand why people freak out about her.

I don't think he meant that he appreciated it (although he very well could), but moreso that she can actually sing, unlike Perry. Shiteaous song, but decent voice.
