at that point in time, a band with drum machines and synths was probably going to an "industrial" band. late 80's/early 90s was the era of Ministry, NiN, Skinny Puppy, KFMDM, Nitzer Ebb, etc.. and there were plenty of budding industrial bands around.

that was exactly the motivation behind my first band, in 1992. we wanted to play something but had no interest in speed metal or pop. but grunge, for us, was all about having fun being simple and dumb.
