i read the first one and found the curious lack of attention to Newton's Laws to be pretty disturbing.
took me a couple of times to feel like i got it. but even so, there's absolutely no way i could explain Godel's theorem now.
just finished The English Passengers. a fun book. and i found the history of Tasmania (even as told through fictional characters) very interesting - even more interesting than a few of the sub-plots.
Uncle Albert almost sounds like Pink Floyd, something off Meddle, maybe; pre-Dark Side, post-Syd. the sound effects, obvs. but the melody and languid pacing has a strong Floyd vibe, to my ears.
