IIRC Iwata recently said they are hiring a large number of new developers rather than relying on more second-party studios. First and foremost to be able to introduce more original properties.

Superficially 3D World looks very much like a straight platformer rather than an adventure, but people keep praising it and saying it allows for and rewards exploration and creativity. I would give that one a try before pining for the old days of 64/Sunshine.

You just reminded me how happy I was to see Galaxy revert to text.

Amadeus is forgotten now?

It all boils down to this: If you like the movie, Avengers, MoS, Pacific Rim, whatever, it gets a pass. Despite your mental gymnastics they all do basically the same thing.

Yup. It will be out in March.

I said not too long ago, earlier this year IIRC. The MD pilot was filmed in the late 90's.

Having not seen the source material I disagree. The lead performances alone are absolutely atrocious for a non B-movie. Like one reviewer said, it's as if Shyamalan has never met another human being in his life. And that's really just the tip of the iceberg.

In related news, the upcoming Twin Peaks: The Complete Mystery Bluray will include Fire Walk With Me and FINALLY the deleted scenes. 45 minutes worth apparently.

There was talk of a new TV series not too long ago. If true that might be even more exciting to me.

On a related note, the long lost Captain Beefheart album released after his death turned out to be one of the best he ever did. It strikes a chord between his accessible albums and the more avant-garde ones like none other, without feeling at all compromised.

The theatrical cut has been called an action movie trailer for the actual movie. The DC has been called one of the most substantial of all time. Scott regrets letting them release it like they did. It's hard to cut 45 minutes from a movie without compromising it somewhat.

That last part is a particularly accurate example of the kind of rationalization I can picture coming from an actual sociopath. If sociopaths even bother with rationalization, I don't know.

Billy Dee Williams was contracted to appear in two sequels and they had to pay him out when they decided to go in a different direction. All this before any drafts had been written.

EDIT: Tried to redact as soon as I posted my comment, but apparently Disqus wanted to punish my stupidity by logging me out every time I hit "show more comments" to find it.

People shouldn't be surprised by the excellence of this game. Unlike anything in the New Super Mario Bros. series the main console iterations in this franchise and Zelda are given much bigger budgets, way more development time and are produced by Nintendo's very best developers. The more prestiguous handheld titles

14 regular episodes! And I thought Fawlty Tower's 13 was pushing it.

One of the four extra features on my copy of the movie called "the man behind the scream" is devoted to Ben Burtt's excellent sound design (yes that's Burtt with two Ts, annoyingly).

You must be my girlfriend, in which case I already told you you're wrong. Agreed about Basement Jaxx though.
