So true. There's a real sense of community here. I've read and had actual discussions with people over controversial topics instead of typical Internet shouting, and feel I've learned a few things. Not saying this can't happen on Kinja, and it'll still be the same people, but the more complex discussion format of

The Kinja experience, based on my encounters, is simply more frustrating. And that could be a problem for this site, in my opinion.

Do these book things come with a comments section?

Yeah, I try to join in on io9 and it just isn't the same. Kinja is a colder type of application, if that makes any sense.

I feel where you're coming from. A.V. Club currently has the kind of commenting format that I'm just comfortable with and enjoy. It's probably just my preference for an older version of Internet interaction. (I'm still bummed that IMDB canned its forums. Was always my go-to place to discuss a specific show.) It's not

Awesome. Although I hope addressing it isn't, "Nope." :-D

I need to beautifully merge mine, too, into a brand new but all-encompassing baby fork.

How dare you say one bad thing about Cookie Monster??

Hopefully we get some more info on this.

Ah, the Great Comment Shift of 2013. (or whenever it was)

So, I'm "DetectiveFork" on both A.V. Club and Disqus. But they're separate accounts and I've commented from both of them on this site (usually not intentionally). Will I only be able to keep the comments from the Disqus account (which are far fewer)? Or do I have to create a new Disqus account to carry over my A.V.

My thoughts exactly. "More fresh air!" is one of the benefits.

Is Kinja a world in which those of us who scream "SIMMMMSSS!!!!!" will be cast into the gray abyss?

Well, it was fun, guys and gals.

You meow-ted me!

Has A.V. Club had a huge problem with harassment and porn? I sometimes see spam comments for "wonderful" work-at-home job opportunities.

Burner and those damned long codes I can never remember.

It's better than commenting on A.V. Club's Facebook posts or something.

Ugh. Yeah, the awful sorting and seeing "pending approval" gives me a lot less incentive to take part in discussions. One thing that was great about Disqus was the immediacy and the great conversations we've had here.

Those damn greys! Experimenting on my wiener!
