Yep, sorry for screwing this one up. I actually knew (or at least recalled when mentioned) a decent chunk of those details, but I blanked on Czolgosz's survival. A correction has been made!

Ooh boy, "historical illiteracy" feels a bit harsh, but yeah, I've got to take my lumps on this one. I remembered quite a few details on Czolgosz — including the fact that McKinley asked law enforcement not to be too rough on him, which should have tipped me off that he survived to stand trial! — but I blanked. I

Pretty sure I could open a scarecrow factory with all those strawmen, but okay.

Yeah, I should have remembered Czolgosz survived, as I *did* know McKinley pleaded with law enforcement to be merciful with him. A correction has been made.

Yep, should have known that one. A self-lacerating correction has been added. Though, in my mild defense, as I think this is why I misremembered it, his trial wasn't nearly as interesting as Guiteau's.

Oh goodness, she was on the Taylor Hicks year? I had no idea.

Even if not everyone likes Quantum of Solace as much as I do, I feel like that should beat Prince of Persia by pretty much every conceivable criterion. Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters, too, for that matter. What a strange, strange algorithm.

I have no idea whether Siede is pronounced like "Side" or See-EH-deh" or what

ol' Sgt. Wilko

Tough but fair.

I don't think she's the only example where the runner-up went onto more success than the winner. But I only think that, because I legitimately am blanking on any other examples of what I'm vaguely semi-remembering.

Oh, we're throwing that one on the pile!

I realize that's the more relevant credit here, but it's also less funny. Honestly, she should just be glad I didn't refer to her as Smash's Katharine McPhee.

Aw, c'mon, I gave you "ageless Czech demigod." Now is not a night to kvetch about how … what, I guess how the NHL blurb wasn't significantly more detailed than everything else?

It's up now! It just didn't seem like a good use of people's time to hold back publication while I found another random wrestling clip to post.

That's something I'm very, very happy to be wrong about. Will still fix it.

You can point fingers at me. I tend to get these up like 10 minutes after midnight Central time. It'll be up on the front page the next time the system refreshes.

Man, why'd they ever kill off Ben Browder? They could have gradually turned him face, then put him in an increasingly leather-based outfit and shot him into space, thus completing Arrow's metamorphosis into Farscape season 5.

I don't know if they've ever confirmed that the timelines are unfolding at the exact same speed, but I think each season has some dialogue hint that we're watching what unfolded about five years ago relative to the present. So yeah, kinda.

I don't honestly watch a whole ton of TV outside my regular reviewing duties. Beyond just having to give some priority to my other commitments, I think it helps me from getting too TV-ed out, so to speak.
