Plus the Doctor/Master/Dalek triptych, which doesn't really have any other precedent in the series. (Yes, yes, the final minute of "Frontier in Space," I know.)

He didn't see it before, though. River was the only witness to the Dalek begging for mercy. And given the Doctor had good reason to think Missy might not be telling the whole truth about this strangely behaving Dalek, he was primed to consider the otherwise unlikely possibility that Clara was inside.
I don't really know what there is to say about it? I mean, it's either a random bit of weird plotting, which I spoke to in the review in a more general sense, or it's a possible dangling plot thread Moffat has now put in for the show to pick up in future, if ever they want to do a "botched regeneration" arc or…
I don't have the exact quote off the top of my head, but the Doctor more or less said, "I knew exactly what you were doing and let you do it, because of the sewer Daleks, moron." But yeah, it all goes a bit fast.
In fairness, I don't see why you need to excuse the Dalek begging for mercy? It just confirms that, yes, that word is indeed in the Daleks' memory banks, and has been all along. This episode just reveals why.
DAMMIT, I hate mistakes like that. I'll go fix.
That's fair! I do think the kind of socialization we're talking about here is more about how people of another gender are thought of as some strange alien species, which I'm not sure has a precise parallel in a non-heterosexual context. So, yeah, that's a heteronormative phrasing, but it's also describing a…
I'm coming in super-late on this, but I do want to say that that was more intended as a self-deprecating/wryly frustrated jab at the slowness of our post updates/my failure to catch the error initially. I thought it was more or less harmless, and maybe that explanation of my intent mitigates it a bit, but either way,…
This is not an unfair perspective.
Yeah, sorry, that one was pretty gross. I mean, that's a fun nonsense word, as these things go, but the error itself is gross. Fixed now, and apologies again!
I would support federal legislation to require people to hit refresh one last time to double-check the author hadn't already made a sneaky edit to fix errors like these before they were pointed out. I'm not saying this would help anyone other than me … but I am saying I'm prepared to endorse whichever candidate can…
I mean, I totally realized this as I wrote it, then figured, "Eh, screw it, it's just a dumb throwaway joke, there's no way anyone would care enough to correct this."
I'll have thoughts on it soon. Don't rush me!
So American, so summer.
Oh, like I'm not going to go around boasting about praise from Mrs. Landon Alger!
I've updated the WOT listings with the scoop!
I officially describe myself at all available opportunities as "a whinging lefty socialist trade unionist," so … YEAH.
The next review will indeed be going up today. I've updated today's WOT with the full info.
I've emailed Joshua. Will reply again and update if I hear back.
Nah, it's totally cool. I've definitely written better, but I do appreciate it.
