Oh, there were tons of stuff to enjoy about it. It just didn't have the emotional depth that his S4 appearances had. I wouldn't really expect it to, given he's there for a much shorter period, but still felt worth pointing out.

In slight fairness, he's only seen Laurel as Canary from a distance and at weird angles while a lot of other things were going on. He got a pretty decent look at Roy, who was like 10 feet away from him and is pretty obviously the exact same height and build as that other guy who always wears red hoodies.

I think I'm mostly just imagining 90s-hair Malcolm Merlyn meeting 2005-era Captain Jack Harkness, and it's just kinda hilarious comparing the two young (or, in one case, "young") Barrowmans in my mind.
