I totally disagree about the Penelope Cruz sketch.  I thought it was smart and funny.  One of my favorites of the night.  The new cast member really impressed me with such a strong showing right out of the gate.

@drdarke:disqus , I object!  Let the record show (and by "record", I mean last week's comment thread) that I apologized.

Yes, she's the stage manager.  Speaking as a stage manager myself, I'm very happy with how they've portrayed her so far.  (Do I wish the show was all about her? Of course I do.  Am I crazy enough to think anyone would be interested in that?  No, I'm not.)  What little time we do see with her, she always seems to be

Ok, am I really the first one who's going to comment on that "the pill is making me crazy" line that Penny muttered on (I think) her way in to Jane's apartment?  It was clearly something they added in during ADR (she says it off screen) and meant to be an aside that most people wouldn't pick up one (it's mumbled and

Yeah, I have to say I didn't really understand what those opening sentences were getting at either.

@drdarke:disqus : Ok, I'm sorry.  Rereading my comment, I do feel like I came off more critical than I meant to.  My tone was meant to be more teasing and less sharp, but obviously that's hard to convey to a stranger via text.
Just FYI, I personally don't blame the actors for the poor turn that Castle's taken.  I do

    Edited to remove comment.

It's basically movie magic.  Sometimes it's that you're not seeing full body shots (you'll see full body shots of them standing around in those shoes, but then when they're running you can't see their shoes, so in real life the actors are wearing sneakers).  Other times you do see full body shots with them running in

My god, @drdarke:disqus, do you know how often you bring up Andrew Marlowe on these boards?  I only ever scan the comments, but it happens so much on Castle that it's become a habit for me to stop and look for his name in your posts, just to see if you're going to rant about him again.  (And you always do!)  I get

I'm right there with you. And I haven't even popped a baby out that I can use as an excuse.

Lily's at the wedding. The flash forward at the beginning of the season showed her coming into Barney's room and asking if he was really going to wear that tie.

Episode numbering is off again.  This is episode 18, NOT 19.  And last week's was 17, NOT 18.

Definitely keep calling them horses.  Make it as surreal as possible.

I think the red and green references refer to the colors of the rubber bands that he wears on his wrists, which were mentioned in the first episode but not shown in this one IIRC.  The red rubber band matches up to the yellow color scheme (wife is alive) and the green one matches up to the blue color scheme (son is

I would prefer if there was a minimum donation, as that would be a guarantee of money for the workers.  But besides that, I don't have a problem with this.  If these people were going to be on the street anyway begging for money (and I understand that's an assumption on my part, but I'm guessing that if they had other

Well, I see what you're saying, @avclub-e2a6a1ace352668000aed191a817d143:disqus .  But the other side of that is, at least in my observations, that many of the Streetwise purchases ended up as a result of intense pressure from the people selling them and intense guilt from the people buying them.  I always felt bad

My parents' house has the same sort of thing, now that I think about it.  There's a little placard outside of a bedroom door that says "Beth's Room."  None of us know who the hell Beth is, but they bought the house in 1987 and it's still up there today.  At first it was just a thing they'd get around to removing

Yes, this!  What the hell, lawyers?  You might as well have just said, "Hey judge, client's lying and I know it, so I can't ask him any more questions.  Now you know he's lying too and can go ahead and charge him with perjury."  And then judge never did charge either one of them with perjury, which is its on

I didn't think they were a couple the whole time, but I did think they'd met and come to their arrangement before the end of the trial.  When she perjured herself and Sweeney smiled and nodded, I interpreted that as a signal that she'd already agreed to whatever deal he was offering her, and as part of that he'd

Well, I don't know.  I think it's unlikely that they wouldn't have painted over the height chart, but not impossible.  It could be in a room they didn't get around to yet (it seemed to be some sort of out-of-the way closet or laundry room-type area) or they could've kept it because they found it charming.  Some people
