"What also often gets lost in the Freaky Friday canon is where these movies came from. In 1972…"

I remember The Onion Premium
I used to pay for The Onion online, so many years ago. Then they got rid of it, and offered me a refund via credit at The Onion Store. And when I got to The Onion Store, they had replaced all of their cool products with their current line of rejected Threadless shirts. And then the day

Between Hodgman and Turturro
…nobody has been asked about their appearance on "Flight of the Conchords."

The day George Lucas dies is the day Lucasfilm announces the original trilogy on Blu-ray. "We mastered these years ago behind his back. We've just been waiting patiently ever since."

The Stupids
is a much smarter movie than it gets credit for.

This interview would make me feel better
if "The Cable Guy" were available in ANY FUCKING STORE IN CHICAGO RIGHT NOW.

Are Randy and Evi Quaid
starring in a Casey Affleck documentary?

I don't believe anything's intentionally unclear — whether Sam's flights of fantasy involve a silver flying suit or a giant samurai covered in computer parts or a daring escape from a torture chamber, it's always specifically conveyed as such in one way or another. Criterion did have the rights to "Crash," but only on laserdisc. Cronenberg's commentary is, as you might expect, awesome: as I recall, he got his plumber to help troubleshoot some problems with the opening credits.

I love "Crash." While there's not a single character in the movie with whom anyone I know could even remotely identify, the film's far more palatable if you view it as a *horror* film. The last scene especially.

How are you Grandfathers getting 65 songs for $15? I've been a member since it was $10 for infinity tracks, and right now I'm only gettin' 50 tracks for my $15. They owe me.

Justin Long had me at "You talk like a fag and your shit's all retarded."

SPOILER ALERT

Roller derby "games"
…are called "bouts."

VHS works but it's not widescreen.

Version control
I recommend the theatrical version, which is not available on DVD. It's also allegedly Peter Jackson's preferred version.
