This is two years later so forgive me but this screams for a response of pedantry!

An excellent character to bring up but I only want to give AVC the benefit of the doubt because Curb hasn't officially ended yet. I hope. Please please.

It seems that it will still be produced, it just won't be aired on Teen Nick and MTV Canada anymore.

I agree with most of this but for your idea that the VW ad was forcasting change. The ad itself may have been cutting edge in the way it uses a negative spin to positively sell its product, but it's still selling an old product: stability and reliability that Don doesn't have in his own personal life. Maybe we are

And this coming from J.P. McPickleshitter.

Thank you; those were two of the most impressive single shots to me in the whole episode to the point where I paused and lingered on them for a good amount of time while watching. I think they are a Rosetta Stone to the episode, and season, maybe series. This show is so full of visual and atmospheric clues that act as

Oh! And I think it also relates to what Peggy says, about wanting to create a catchphrase, ie. work on a lasting brand, one that doesn't need advertising because the "packaging is the billboard"— when most of what we've seen on Mad Men is small potatoes adverising campaigns of real products that didn't stand the test

and I meant *1970 of course (this is my true av club handle)

A couple of seasons ago, after avclub discontinued the reviews, a bunch of regulars of the PR comments sections migrated over to http://projectrunaways.blog…

My face is caked with dry tears of laughter. I have had a pretty depressing week myself and while I tend to find things funny internally, there isn't much in this world that makes me laugh so hard I cry anymore. This clip https://www.youtube.com/wat… and Teti Project Runway recaps are always a slam dunk. Thank you.

Al's hammy theatrics delight me.

When I used to use Hulu a lot, I tweaked the ad algorithm so much that for about 6 months the only commercial I was getting was the psychedelic "Feed the senses" Friskies commercial. That was nice.

My first world problem is that Amanda Palmer isn't in this video so I can enjoy being utterly annoyed by her hammy theatrics.

Re: the glove

I saw OITNB production trucks parked and filming was going on at the end of October '13 in Brooklyn.

Ha! Thanks for that.

When JT and Fallon get back up to sing the theme again, you can see Madonna answering a phone call and taking it to the back of the set.

I think they were skulls but they did make me laugh. A lot.

I searched these comments for a mention of Joey and Phoebe, and you done fucked it up!
