Such an honest, straightforward interview from Heidecker, that really gets to the thought process behind his work. So much better than those stupid Vernon Chatman nonsense ones.

I HAVE A 5-YEAR-OLD, A 3-YEAR-OLD, AND A 1-YEAR-OLD. MY WIFE HAS STARTED WORKING NIGHTS, AND I HAVE A COPY OF THIS MOVIE ON DVD SOMEWHERE IN THE BASEMENT. INSTANT REPRIEVE FROM THE CHILDREN, RIGHT?

For some reason, the kids in the non-advanced English class got to watch Menace II Society, whereas the IB English class was stuck with the Mel Gibson version of Hamlet. (The Kenneth Branagh 70mm version was in one theatre in town as we were preparing for our exams, though.)

Listened to this several times on a cheap Walkman on a family car trip from Milwaukee to Florida.

We welcomed Baby Thorzul #2 to the world early Sunday morning (a boy, our first).  During some of the "down time" I was able to start reading The Ox-Bow Incident.  Damn, that poker scene in the first chapter was textbook suspension building.  I started watching The Devil's Double on Amazon Prime, didn't finish yet,

I tried that once or twice on my third graders, but that's waaaaaay over their heads.  Now my go-to response to, "I don't have a pencil," is, "You know, that's something you should have said to your parents last night."

Maybe he was too busy perfecting his recipe for stew.

Surge!

I have access to pretty much the entire Reading Rainbow library.  What was the title of the main story?  With that to go on, I might be able to find it.

"ZODIACMOTHERFUCKER IS NOT GOING TO LIKE THIS."

Is this the album with "Do It in the Butt"?  That one was a classic in high school, and still fairly relevant today.  Then I remember the album ending with recordings of people puking after drinking too much in Tijuana.  That part wasn't so classic.

ONE VOTE FOR ZODIAC.

Stars, high self-esteem?  Sure.  It's the bit players in this theatre of dreams we need to worry about.  Those instances when ninety minutes of double anal only gets you mentioned on the back cover are the ones they prescribe the anti-depressants for.
