Agreed. I tried to watch it and gave up after about half of the first season. It bored me to tears.
However — there's still some damn fine TV out there. I think we're at least in the Silver Age of TV, if not the new Golden Age.

I used to read TWoP, so yeah I know what you mean. They really began a downward spiral over there after they were bought out.
