Around 1998, people started telling me that I reminded them of Chandler
Bing, especially my sense of humor.  I was flattered because, though I
hadn't seen the comparison on my own, it was definitely accurate. This was the time of "Love really is the best medicine!" "Laughter is the best medicine." "Why do you do it?"

I'm not sure if they're funning you, @avclub-7a8b8402b2f0fc78cf726ee484a0a2b7:disqus , but French-Canadian actress Genevieve Bujold was originally cast as Janeway. She quit halfway through filming the pilot, and it was quickly recast with Kate Mulgrew. It was pretty major, and Bujold hasn't had a mainstream acting job

That explains the stroke. Your brain was protecting her from your body, and its disgusting urges.

"Come on along and listen to/the lullaby of Broadway"

Ike Eisemann (Eisenmann?), in "Escape to Witch Mountain". Sigh…he was my secret love. Big brown eyes, elven little nose, and I just knew he was the nicest boy in the world. And he was different, like me. And he loved his sister, like me! We had so much in common!

After season 6 ended, and I'd watched each episode with a friend, I felt my commitment was done.

Very. Very. Nice.

DID she!

It's my second-favorite Trek, after the original, and that was one of the reasons. He's sure right about most of the supporting characters being zeroes, too. I started watching season 6, with a good friend. He'd try to explain why something was meaningful by, say, explaining Paris's backstory - to me, if you had to

Took them awhile to fix it too - she hated that bun. It was about as useful and appropriate as Troi's stupendous cleavage.

No, no, no no no nononono, it didn't.

How do you comment on something like this? What more can be said about Star Trek: Voyager? It sure was good sometimes.

I actually thought it was better too.

Yeah. I didn't know it was a plot point of Jaws 3 until after I'd seen The Revenge. Again, just gilding the lily with extra stupid.

Yes, that's true. In fact, I originally was going to mention the sneaking and the peeking and leave it at that - the suffocating from the inactivity is just gilding the lily. It makes it impossible not to imagine that Bruce Jr is something like Jabberjaw.

OK, it's not a FINE fuck-you. It's more of a "we killed the character that people really related to in the first movie, sooooo hey, they're back-ish!" It's maybe more of an ATTEMPT at a fuck-you, but since nobody saw either of those movies, it didn't really land (I like that expression - "it doesn't/didn't land").

Oh, Son Of Kong ("Denham" should have been a tip-off). I never actually saw Son of Kong, but from the synopsis, that sounds about right. Denham's on the run, and ends up on Skull Island.

I have no idea what this is in response to, thanks to Disqus' weirdness. Let me look.

I was in high school when "Kong Lives" came out. If I hadn't been someone who read religiously the movie section of the local weekly newspaper, I literally would never have heard of it before now.

Walkmans.
