I think all the actors who've been Bond have brought something unique to the role, but For Your Eyes Only is definitely one of the best

I used to look up everything I said before I said it (well, you know what I mean), but I found I prefer engendering conversation, assuming I know what "engender" means. Which I mayn't.

Yes, the fault isn't with the actor in any way. It's her naivete and vulnerability that I personally find most uninteresting.

'sok. Thanks.

By far, the worst thing about the early Moore movies was the women. Did the "feminist backlash" really need to result in so many scream-y, run away-y girls? I guess it did, but a good, competent woman really elevates the movies. Jane Seymour was great, as always, but she was the bad guy's possession! Also, James

Moonraker was a LOT better when I rewatched it a few years ago. I still don't like the space stuff, but there's an awful lot of fun otherwise.

I just re-watched the opening ski chase/fight again, and holy cow it's just so much fun. Even the inserts of Moore in close-up made it more fun, and when he turned his ski pole into a mini-missile laucher - OH, that James Bond!

I'm still surprised how many people say "I thought there wasn't any over-the-air tv anymore". Well, there is! I just can't bring myself to pay for tv, and why yes, I am over 40.

The idea that the Bond films were dying out led directly to George Lazenby only being in one movie. It's too bad, but I wonder what direction the series would have gone in if he'd stayed. OHMSS was tailored for a new Bond, but it was definitely more in the same direction as what had come before. I don't think he would

Carole Bouquet's vengeance-seeking "Melina", my favorite hands down. Beautiful, smart, has a crossbow AND a mustache, and a very fine actor as well.
