I agree, but I think I've figured out why it bugged me so much. Two things: first, Adam and Harris' characters succeeded in the past because they were given time to expand their absurdity, and here it was the concept that was absurd as opposed to the people within it, so once the core joke of characs-within-characs

3, 2, 4, 1.
It's hard to pick between 2 and 4. Kind of shocked to see 3 at the bottom of someone's list, any particular reason?

THAT WAS A WEIRD ONE

This has been an absolutely awesome year for music, and this month alone has been killing it: Savages, Mikal Cronin, The National, and now Daft Punk, just to name a few. I have always liked Vampire Weekend but have not previously had very strong feelings about any of their work.

BUT HE'S THE FUCKING KING OF SHOWBIZ! Damn, I really thought this was a lock. I assume this means he'll end up with Weekend Update after Meyers slides into late night, but I'd much rather have him in control of his own show. NBC, you truly are the AT&T of… well, you know what I mean

I don't know if they grade sand, but…

Samm Levine/ PFT is my favorite pairing on DLM. Paul's open contempt for the way Samm acts within the game cracks me up every time. The pinnacle of this was the Tournament of Champions between the two of them and Scott Aukerman, where Paul gets furious at him constantly, at one point even deliberately knocking Samm's

Seconded. Saw them at Coachella, and even in an early afternoon tent slot they fucking killed it. Only played ~35 minutes but left a huge impression. Easily the best new band I saw all weekend.

My father's memory does not deserve to be tarnished like this. I expect compensation by the thirteenth month of this year.

This was one of my favorite CBB weeks ever. B-b-b-both epicsodes-s-s-s were fantastic. The would you rather stalling in Bisco Boys slayed me, and Zombie Candles is my favorite of the year so. Cake Boss's "yeah, she wanted it to be a lady fucking a horse" caught me (and Scott) completely off guard. If you guys haven't

Good on ya!

I can see the logic behind this analysis of the show, and ultimately this is all subjective, so I don't want to be harsh here. I disagree with Todd on nearly every point made here, but for what he (and a large number of you, I assume) wants out of the show, all of this makes perfect sense I guess. I don't want to

Snark aside, Downfall is a fantastic movie (it's on Netflix streaming, check it out) and I am very excited for this show.

Whoa, I actually had no idea this was based on a book. Agreed that this is Nolan's best by a wide margin, I'd also point out that it's endlessly re-watchable. The pacing in this is phenomenal. And it's probably my favorite Hugh Jackman performance as well.

I'll admit to bias - this is my favorite Nolan movie for many reasons other than just the twist - and it's been a little while since I've seen it, but I actually think it DID earn it. In fact, I'd go as far as saying it's one of the more effective twists in popular cinema this millennium. There are dozens of scenes

Whoa, when did Brett Gelman get hair plugs?

This raises a question I hadn't really thought about before - is this style dead (at least in the U.S.) once Modern Family and Parks leave the air? I kind of can't imagine NBC going down this route again at least.

Oh, this fits snugly in my crosshairs. Uh, Uh, Uh, NEW NO-NO! If you're only going to review new sketch comedy shows a few times a year, I'm only going to watch new sketch comedy shows a few times a year. NEW NO-NOS! Review more sketch comedy shows!

YES! I hope this is followed by a big budget Dan in Real Life / Entourage crossover movie; it would no doubt win all of the stuff. Academy Award winner Sean O'Neal has a nice ring to it.
