I was suspicious immediately upon seeing Charlie, and think you may be giving him a bit too much credit. I think he was fired from his company, which is actually still successful, because of his burgeoning drug habit. Then the sad thing I read as a complete lie to get Marnie on his side.

This episode had some of the best 'schizophrenic dialogue', for lack of a better word, that The Thick of It uses so well, where multiple conversations are happening at once.  The scenes where Ollie is talking to Emma, while at the same time Malcolm and/or Jaime are bollocking people requires two views, so you can

He broke the glasses when the car started, then broke a glass when the whiskey was apple juice, then broke a glass when Woodhouse called, and then broke another when he saw the car was gone.  All in like 2 minutes.

The danger with slow zombies (or in this case medium zombies) is quantity not quality.  In 28 weeks later one fast zombies could really mess you up.  But the brain dead slow zombies are easily killed.  However, eventually there will be so many of them that you physically cannot kill them all in time, and that's when

So Daryl kills zombies with his arrows and pulls them out so he can conserve arrows almost every zombie he's killed.  Then he gets his own arrow through his back and such. Then he pulls it out and kills zombies.
