I listened to that earlier this morning. I'm liking it so far.
This is the same guy behind "Tarkovsky's Former AD", right?
Walt. Is the one. Who knocks.
I feel like we're dealing with turtles all the way down, here. In what universe is a show that's only 40% good worthy of a C- or whatever grade it got 3 weeks ago?
I'm still not sure in what universe a show that's only 60% good deserves a B-.
I look forward to the episode where Max and Caroline get in a fight over territorial issues and paint a line down the middle of the apartment, with Max agreeing to stay on one side and Caroline agreeing to stay on the other. Then the horse comes in and neighs, "I live here, too, idiots!"
He had me at his avatar / handle combo.
In the last paragraph of the review, Todd concedes that the show is only operating at 60% capacity, yet still he rates it a B-. I stated in a comment last week that his support of this show has to be some kind of elaborate prank, and I believe this more and more with each passing week — especially when we learned in…
And then there was the ever-present football player rapist. They were all in love with &c.
Also, if that was her day off, why would she agree to meet him at the diner at 2:00? Why not meet at the billboard, or at her place?
You guys get that _the whole thing_ is a joke, right? Todd doesn't truly like this show; never has. But when you're a TV critic and the new fall season looks as bleak as this one does, how else are you going to entertain yourself but by fake-championing a terrible show to see what kind of furor you can raise?
Why no tech podcasts? Comedy and pop culture get covered, movies, sports, off-beat historical trivia ("Stuff You …") — where's "TWiT"? Where's "The Gillmor Gang"? Where's "This Is My Next Podcast"? For a community that "purports" to "love" "geek" "culture", you sure aren't hitting too many geeky notes.
Cool story, br— ehh, you know how the rest of it goes.
Yeah, we can tell.
The problem with "Flop House" is that Elliott (sp?) is really the only funny one; he's running circles around the other two while they're gasping for breath trying to keep up. The more ridiculous their "Yes, and …" suggestions are, the more desperate they seem, and I just end up feeling embarrassed for all of us.
I guess I can get behind that, though not as eagerly as I'd get behind Kat Dennings.
Was this episode title a Cymbals Eat Guitars reference? "And The Break-Up Scene" sounds suspiciously similar to "… And The Hazy Sea"….
Short answer: 'yes' with an 'if'. Long answer: 'no' with a 'but'.
